🤔 Problem
People would like to use Renku to share and showcase the content from their group.
For example:
- a research consortium would like to share a dataset index of all the datasets published by their group, with Renku projects that demonstrate their usage (‣)
- The SDSC Academic team would like to use Renku to organize materials across the team, seeing which people are working on what projects, and what resource (code, data) are available for reuse from their teammates.
- The SDSC would like to be able to showcase all work along each of the SDSC verticals
- ‣ (a Lab Manager) would like to have an overview of all the projects, who is working on them, and what resources each of the projects use (where is the data)
- From ‣: ‣
More specifically, to cover these use cases, people want to be able to answer the following questions on Renku:
Group Page - Jobs to be Done
- What projects are happening in my group?
- 🟡 We show this information, but it isn’t easy to browse (as soon as there are more than 5 projects, you’re scanning paginated results)
- Who is working on which projects, and with who?
- When I am reviewing all of my group’s stuff,
- I want to be able to quickly identify who is working on which project,
- When I am reminding myself of what a lab member is working on,
- I want to be able to see a list of projects they are working on
- Do you need to be able to search/filter by people who are in group projects but not members of the group?
- ❌ Right now we show the project owner, which is the group- not very useful to show in the context of the group page! We need to show project members.
- Where is the data for each project?
- When I am trying to reproduce something in a project,
- I want to know where the data is,
- Do I need to be able to filter or scan projects by their data?
- âś…Â We cover this, by virtue of the fact that the live data is connected directly to each project.
- Which projects share common topics and themes?
- Which projects do we have that are in X topic?
- 🟡 Keywords - partially implemented for datasets? Not showing for projects listing. Not filterable
