Work in Renku is organized around projects: a project is the core building block where you connect data sources, code repositories and compute environments (for running sessions). You can grant access to a project to your colleagues and collaborators, or even share some elements (code, data or compute environments) of your project to a broader audience.

To create a new project:

1. Click ➕ in the top right corner of renkulab.io after logging in.

   

2. Click on Project.

   

3. On the project creation page

• Enter your project Name (a).
• The Slug will be automatically filled in, but can be modified (b). The slug determines the url of your project on RenkuLab.
• Fill in the Namespace (your user profile or group your project belongs to (c)).
• Fill in the Description (optional)(d).
• Click on Set visibility button (e).

• Select the visibility (either Public or Private)(f).
• Click on Add repositories button (g).

• Add as many code repositories as you need to start working (h). See also: How to Add a code repository to your project
• Click on the Review button (i).

• Check that every detail is correct.
• Click on the Create button (j).
